How the BBB Get a Quote Program Works

BBB’s Get a Quote program is a service that provides you the ability to request information or estimates from BBB Accredited Businesses. Either by choosing a business directly or having your request sent to businesses that provide the requested service in the area you need. Here’s how it works:

Direct Request

Look for the Get a Quote button on a listing on the BBB Business Directory or on a BBB Profile. Fill out the form and have your request sent directly to that business and to additional businesses if you’d like additional responses.

Search By Category

You can send a request based on the type of work you need done. Simply fill out this form.

Request Sent

After you submit your request, BBB will forward your request to the business you chose directly. If you submit a request by category or selected to send to additional Accredited Businesses, the system will send to BBB Accredited Businesses that offer services in the category you chose, allowing up to 3 businesses to Claim and respond to your request.

Responses

The business you chose, or businesses that claimed your request will contact you directly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The company may have responded to the request and you didn’t receive the email or text for some reason, you may want to check your spam folder first. You can also click on one of the links sent to you from BBB to see if there is a response in the system that you may have missed.

You can also try reaching out to the company directly using the information on their BBB Profile. If you chose your request to go to just one company, you can request that BBB open your request to additional businesses to respond to you - by sending your request to multiple businesses you have a better chance of businesses reaching out to you.

There may be times where a business unfortunately may not respond - this can be for a variety of reasons. You may want to review what you sent in your request - if it’s a very specific request, you may have a limited number of businesses that offer that service. Or if you chose a very broad type of business you may want to consider sending a new request choosing a more specific type of business. Say for example you need some work done in your bathroom - you would want to choose Bathroom Remodelers versus General Contractor.

If you are in the beginning stages of the process you won’t need to fill out a new form. You may get an email asking you if you’d like to hear from additional businesses. Or you can contact your BBB and ask them to expand the request to additional businesses. If it has been more than a week, you will want to submit a new form to start the process again.
